Dance Performance

Dear Mr. Mueller and Mr Bluestein,

I want to commend you on the outstanding folk music and dance workshop you have conducted. It is amazing how much the students have learned in only four days. This has been a rewarding experience for my daughter, Abby, who has learned to play the autoharp, dulcimer, and dance many folk dances.

As an educator, I especially value the exposure to rich traditions of, not only our country, but others as well. Sharing the music and dance of various cultures allows young people to see we have much in common with others around the world. It is also an important link to our past, when people gathered for dancing as a way to meet new folks or celebrate the harvest.

It was a delight each morning to see the eagerness on the students' faces as they anticipated the day's activities, and then hear them chattering excitedly when they were picked up, each wanting to share the day with their parent. It was clear, not only from my own daughter's experience, but from the rest of the students, that this program was outstanding. It is my sincere hope that you will be able to offer this workshop again so that more students will be able to particpate. Thank you so much for this wonderful opportunity!

Sincerely,
Lydia Martines

Dulcimer Practice

Dear Mike and Evo,

We would like to take the opportunity to tell you how truly impressed we are with your program. My daughter comes home with stories of learning the autoharp, dulcimer, mandolin, and guitar. She learns folk dances such as the Virginia Reel. Maybe more importantly, she is getting the opportunity to share these new experiences with new friends. It means a great deal to her.

Sincerely ,
Scott, Cindy and Haley Chapman

Sparrowharp

Mike Mueller and Evo Bluestein,

Our child has participated the last two weekends in the "Traditional Music & Dance for Young Folks" program and has thoroughly loved it.

Each day he comes home form the program singing, humming, and/or dancing. Last night our family did a dance while he led the movements and song. The program has added more energy to the love for music and dance our son already has.

We hope the program can continue, and reach more children. We have experienced our child's improvement in school, as his involvement in music continues to grow. Thank you again for opening up this opportunity for our child and others.

Sincerely,

Kelly Cunningham
