Folk Programs for Schools
Evo Bluestein, Director

Students use Evo's autoharp songbook to sing American folk songs before picking up their harp. Next they learn the basics of music theory.

Autoharp is a very accessible instrument, making it easy to sing and play almost instantly but all the students learn the basics of music theory before they play.

The skills and music theory are applicable to other instruments such as guitar, banjo, piano and mandolin.

Autoharp Classes, November 28 - December 1, 2007 at McKinnon School,
Salinas, California

McKinnon School principal Susan Fisher used state grant funds designated for arts, music and P. E. in order to purchase 20 Sparrowharps, books and 3 weeks of instruction for all fourth and fifth grade students.

The Sparrowharp is a smaller version of the Evoharp autoharp designed by Evo Bluestein.
