Migrant Scholars Program Summer 2005

Folk Music and Dance with Evo Bluestein

This year the Migrant Scholars students at California State University, Fresno are from Mendota Unified School Distict. After the 2 week session, some of the students will stay on for a 2 week session with autoharpist and storyteller Bryan Bowers and then a rhythm camp with Joe Craven.

Miguel on autoharp. All the students get intensive training on autoharps (Evoharps).

First day of week two, Carlos and Deisi get a start on mandolin.

Magdalena has really succeeded with the dulcimer. This year's session includes students from 4th -7th grade.

Jose on dulcimer.

Gustavo (above) and Francisco (below) have really taken to the piano.

Edgar fractured his collarbone during a basketball field trip on campus but that won't keep him from his favorite, the mandolin.
