Evo and his EvoharpEvo dedicates OFF THE TOP to the late Appalachian music stylists Kilby Snow, Roscoe Holcomb and Dock Boggs; three raw and powerful singers and instrumentalists.
OFF THE TOP reveals Evo's stored wealth of early country music resources; new arrangements of traditional songs and tunes, with a few original pieces.
This new CD features Evo on autoharp, fiddle and vocals, plus exciting guests: Stuart Duncan, Randy Kohrs, Dave Leddel, Joe Craven, Kenny Hall, Dennis Crouch, and the Bluestein Family (siblings: Joel, Jemmy & Frayda) reunited for this endeavor. Also featured is Evo's contemporary trio, Lyquid Amber (Hannsjoerg Scheid and Kevin Hill) on two original tunes and on Andy Irvine's composition, Facing the Chair.

on OFF THE TOP
OFF THE TOP was partly inspired by the wonderful response to Evo's contributions to the Autoharp Legacy CD (2003), a project of Ron Wall and Bryan Bowers, mixed by Nashville engineer Mark Howard. For Legacy, Evo recorded Troubles (from Kilby Snow) and Margaret's Waltz.
